Israel sets date for ground offensive in Rafah!

Tensions in the Middle East have not subsided following the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation launched by Hamas against Israel on October 7.

While Israel continues to target civilians in Gaza in response to the Hamas attack, a striking statement has come from Israeli war cabinet member Benny Gantz.

According to the report in T24; Gantz, who previously served as Minister of Defense, said, "The world and Hamas leaders must know: If our hostages are not home by Ramadan, the fighting will continue everywhere, including in Rafah."

Ramadan begins on March 10 this year.

Many capitals have expressed their opposition throughout the past week to a potential ground offensive by Israel in Rafah. As a result of the air and ground attacks carried out by Israel in Gaza, many people moved south and took refuge in Rafah. The city's population has exceeded one and a half million.

Gantz stated that in the event of an attack, Israel would act with its American and Egyptian partners to facilitate the evacuation of civilians and "minimize loss of life." Egypt has previously signaled multiple times that it does not wish to accept refugees from Gaza.

Egypt has begun constructing an area surrounded by high concrete walls along the Gaza border to house people fleeing a potential attack.

Even countries such as the US, Germany, and the UK, which have supported Israel throughout the war, have made statements against the possibility of an attack on Rafah. It is being discussed that a ground operation in the region, where the civilian population is concentrated, could lead to a major humanitarian tragedy.
