Israel signals ground operation

As Israel's airstrikes on Lebanon continue, Israeli Chief of General Staff Herzi Halevi has signaled a ground operation into Lebanon.
Halevi told troops on the Lebanese border that the ongoing airstrikes in Lebanon are intended to prepare the ground for a potential ground operation by the troops.
Halevi stated, "You hear the jets overhead; we have been striking all day. This is both to prepare the area for your potential entry (into Lebanon) and to continue dealing blows to Hezbollah."
Addressing Hezbollah's targeting of Israel's capital, Tel Aviv, Halevi said, "Hezbollah has expanded its range today. They will receive a very strong response later today.
We will continue, we are not stopping, and we are continuing to strike everywhere. The goal is very clear: to return the displaced residents of the north safely to their homes," he said.
