Israel strikes a target near the Syrian Presidential Palace!

Following the fall of the Assad regime in Syria on December 8, 2024, Israel's occupation and attacks on Syria continue. The new attack took place in Damascus.

According to a report by Israel's state broadcaster KAN, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz issued a joint statement regarding the attack on Syria.

In the statement, citing the clashes that began with attacks by Druze groups against security forces loyal to the Syrian government, it was stated, "We carried out an attack on a target near the Presidential Palace in Damascus. We will not allow any threat against the Druze."

The statement, which noted that no force would be allowed to be deployed to the south of the capital Damascus, argued, "This is a clear message to the Syrian regime. We will not allow any threat against the Druze community either."

Israeli Defense Minister Katz had threatened the Damascus administration with an attack yesterday, citing the clashes that began as a result of attacks by Druze groups against security forces loyal to the Syrian government.

In his statement, Katz had said, "If attacks against the Druze (in Syria) continue, we will respond harshly."

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar also called on the international community to intervene in Syria during a speech at a reception yesterday.

Israel, which has been inciting the Druze community against the Damascus administration, had carried out attacks on Syria on April 30 under the pretext of protecting the Druze.
