Israel strikes Gaza despite ceasefire: Death toll rising...

The toll from the latest Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, where a ceasefire is ongoing, has worsened. In a statement, civil defense officials in Gaza reported that at least 30 people have lost their lives and dozens have been injured, adding, "Our teams are continuing their efforts to recover the dead and wounded from under the rubble."

ISRAEL HAD STRUCK GAZA DESPITE CEASEFIRE

Israel had carried out new airstrikes on the Gaza Strip while the ceasefire was in effect, with initial reports stating that at least 9 people were killed and 15 injured. US Vice President James David Vance, in his statement regarding the Israeli attacks, said, "The ceasefire is ongoing. This does not mean there will not be minor skirmishes."

HAMAS HAD REITERATED ITS COMMITMENT TO THE CEASEFIRE

Hamas, for its part, stated that it had no connection to the armed attack on Israeli forces in Rafah, declaring, "We reaffirm our commitment to the ceasefire agreement." The statement emphasized that the bombardments carried out by the Israeli army in various parts of the Gaza Strip were a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement signed in Egypt under the auspices of US President Donald Trump.
