Israel strikes over 200 targets in Gaza overnight

The conflict between Israel and Hamas has entered its 4th day. In a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), it was announced that dozens of Israeli military fighter jets carried out attacks on more than 200 targets in the Rimal neighborhood of Gaza city and the city of Khan Yunis throughout the night. It was stated that military infrastructure and a weapons depot were targeted in Khan Yunis. Among the locations struck was a weapons depot located inside a mosque.

Additionally, it was announced that 38 more soldiers were killed in the ongoing clashes with Hamas, bringing the number of Israeli soldiers who have lost their lives to 123.

BODIES OF 1,500 HAMAS MEMBERS FOUND IN ISRAEL

IDF Spokesperson Richard Hecht announced to reporters that the lifeless bodies of 1,500 Hamas members had been found in Israel and around the Gaza Strip. Stating that security forces have regained control of the border line with the besieged Gaza Strip, Hecht said, "We know that no one has entered from the border since last night. But there could still be infiltrations."

Spokesperson Hecht also emphasized that the Rafah Border Crossing between the Gaza Strip, which is under Israeli blockade, and Egypt has been closed.

Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, the chief spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces, stated that the army has regained control of the Gaza border after Hamas blew up parts of the border fence on Saturday morning. Hagari said, "Not a single terrorist has entered through the wire fence in the last day."

OVER A HUNDRED ISRAELI SOLDIERS HELD CAPTIVE

According to Israel Army Radio, more than 100 Israeli soldiers were taken captive by Hamas and brought to Gaza. Israel's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, stated that the number of soldiers held captive is estimated to be "between 100 and 150."

In a statement from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, it was reported that the number of Palestinians who have lost their lives in the attacks carried out by Israel has risen to 704. A call was made to open a "safe corridor" to ensure the entry of emergency aid to hospitals. It was reported that the Israeli army targeted 4 ambulances in the east of Khan Yunis city, and that a hospital in the city of Beit Hanoun was rendered out of service as a result of an attack. The statement said, “The electricity shortage that keeps the health system running continues. This situation threatens the lives of all patients and the wounded.”

According to information obtained from local sources, Palestinian journalists Saeed Al-Taweel and Muhammad Rizk lost their lives in the Israeli attacks.

OVER 137 THOUSAND PALESTINIANS TOOK SHELTER IN UN SCHOOLS

In a statement from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), it was announced that more than 137 thousand Palestinians have taken shelter in 83 schools belonging to the agency.
