Israel strikes UN school sheltering civilians: 18 dead

The Israeli military continues its massacres in the Gaza Strip on the 341st day of the conflict. A statement from the Gaza Government Media Office reported that the Israeli army targeted the Al-Jaouni School, run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), which was sheltering 5,000 displaced civilians in the Nuseirat Refugee Camp.

It was reported that 18 people, including women and children, lost their lives in the attack, and many others were injured. It was emphasized that UNRWA staff were among those who lost their lives.

It was noted that since Israel began its attacks on October 7, it has bombed more than 18 schools and shelters in the Nuseirat Refugee Camp. The statement emphasized that the Israeli and U.S. administrations are responsible for the ongoing massacres of civilians in Gaza.

The international community and all international organizations were called upon to pressure Israel to stop the crime of genocide and the bloodshed in Gaza.

In a statement regarding the attack, the Israeli military claimed that the Israeli Air Force had "targeted a Hamas command and control center."
