The Israeli military attacked the Global Sumud Flotilla, which had set sail to break the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip. The fleet, consisting of 44 ships, had set out to transport humanitarian aid to Palestinians.
The Marinette vessel, which was at the center of the attack, had its communications cut off following intervention by Israeli soldiers, and the ship was seized.
CONTACT LOST WITH THE VESSEL
The Marinette vessel, leading the flotilla, had approached within 9 miles of the Gaza coast. However, following the Israeli military's attack, contact with the ship was lost. Israeli soldiers who raided the ship took control of the vessel and intervened against the activists on board.
