Israeli airstrike on Syria
The Israeli press reported that the Israeli military carried out an airstrike on the Syrian city of Tartus.
According to a report by the Israel-based Haaretz, the Israeli military conducted an airstrike on Tartus on the Syrian coast. The attack was reported by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which has been monitoring violence in Syria since the beginning of the civil war.
The Observatory stated that numerous explosion sounds were heard in the city and that the country's air defense systems engaged the attack.
While a Russian Navy military base is located in Tartus, it is not yet known whether there were any casualties or damage in the attack.
