Israeli army announces attack on Jenin: A new act in the war in Palestine
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), stating that they will conduct an operation in Jenin in the West Bank, have begun deploying their tanks to the region. Israel last carried out a large-scale military intervention in the area 22 years ago. The operation will be Israel's first major attack on Palestinians following the war that has been ongoing in Gaza for nearly 2 years.
The Israeli army has announced that it is expanding its attacks in the occupied West Bank and will enter Jenin with tanks for the first time since 2002. Military officials reported that a tank division would join the operations in the region for reinforcement.
The IDF decided to expand the operation codenamed 'Iron Wall,' which it launched in the city of Jenin on January 21. The IDF's statement indicated that attacks have also been launched on villages near Jenin.
Yedioth Ahronot newspaper noted that Israeli tanks were seen near Jenin in the northern West Bank for the first time in 22 years. After beginning on January 21, the attacks were expanded to include Tulkarm on January 27, and the Al-Fara'a Refugee Camp and the town of Tammun in Tubas on February 2.

ISRAEL INCREASES ITS ATTACKS
Israeli soldiers also directed their attacks toward the Nur Shams Refugee Camp on February 9. The Israeli army, which withdrew its forces from Tammun on February 8, has intensified its operations in the region.
At least 56 Palestinians have lost their lives in the attacks carried out by the IDF since January 21. While thousands of people have been injured, structures and infrastructure in the region have been extensively destroyed.
In the attacks that have been ongoing in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem since October 7, 2023, more than 920 Palestinians, including 167 children, have lost their lives. The number of injured has approached 7 thousand.
