The Israeli army had issued an announcement for civilians living in northern Gaza to withdraw to the south within 24 hours. Following the announcement, some Palestinians began to leave the region using various vehicles.

The following statements were included in the announcement made by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the matter:
"The announcement by the Israeli army for the Palestinian population living in northern Gaza to withdraw to southern Gaza within 24 hours is in no way acceptable.
Forcing the people of Gaza, who have been subjected to indiscriminate bombing for days and collectively deprived of electricity, water, and food, to migrate within an extremely limited area is a clear violation of international law, and it has no place in humanity.
We expect Israel to immediately reverse this grave mistake and to put an immediate end to its brutal and total actions against the civilian population in Gaza."
