Israeli cabinet approves Gaza ceasefire agreement: Text of the agreement revealed
Following Hamas, Israel has also taken the expected step. After a meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and cabinet members that lasted for hours, the Israeli government approved the ceasefire agreement reached with Hamas in Gaza.
The Israeli cabinet has approved the ceasefire agreement reached with Hamas in Gaza.
Israel and Hamas have issued their official decisions one after another regarding the ceasefire they reached in Egypt the previous day. The Israeli cabinet, which gathered in the evening to vote on the ceasefire, approved the agreement that provides for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange in Gaza. The agreement includes important articles regarding the prisoner swap and the passage of humanitarian aid.

According to the draft text shared by the Israeli state television KAN, it was stated that the Israeli army would withdraw to the lines on the updated map within 24 hours after the announcement of the ceasefire. It was stated that within the 72-hour period following the completion of the Israeli army's withdrawal, Hamas would hand over all Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip, and in return, Israel would release 250 Palestinian prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment, 1,700 people detained from the Gaza Strip after October 7, 2023, and 22 children, as well as deliver the bodies of 360 Palestinians killed by Israel.
STATEMENT FROM HAMAS
Israel and Hamas reached a consensus yesterday during indirect talks in Egypt. While both sides accepted the ceasefire in Gaza and the mutual release of prisoners, the first official statement came from Hamas.
"THE WAR IN GAZA HAS ENDED, A PERMANENT CEASEFIRE HAS BEGUN"
Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya included the following statements in his announcement: "The ongoing war in Gaza has ended today. A permanent ceasefire has officially begun. Israel will release 1,950 women and children held in prisons. The Rafah Border Crossing will also be opened for two-way traffic. We express our deep gratitude to our mediator brothers in Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar."
Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya stated that they had received guarantees from the mediators and the US administration, and that they confirmed the war had ended completely.
