Israeli Chief of General Staff approves continuation of attacks in Gaza

In a press conference, Halevi made statements regarding Israel's attacks in the Gaza Strip and the clashes with Hezbollah.

MILITARY PRESSURE TO BE INCREASED

Claiming that the Israeli army is proceeding according to plan and that they have "completed the plan to dismantle Hamas's military structure in the northern Gaza Strip," Halevi stated that they are now focusing on the central and southern parts of the Gaza Strip.

Stating that they will continue to "increase the pressure" on Hamas, Halevi said, "Today, we approved the plans for the Southern Command to continue the fighting and increase military pressure on Hamas."

Halevi noted that they will conduct an investigation into the October 7 attack by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, but that a date has not yet been set. Regarding a question about those displaced in northern Gaza, he replied that they could consider the return of those "who we know are not in danger."

"SOUTHERN LEBANON IS A WAR ZONE"

Touching upon the mutual attacks between the Israeli army and Hezbollah on the Lebanese border, Halevi commented, "The southern region of Lebanon is a war zone and will remain so as long as Hezbollah operates there. Hezbollah could turn all of Lebanon into a war zone, and there will be a heavy price for that."

Halevi stated, "We are operating freely in Lebanese airspace and striking every threat we detect."
