Israeli Defense Minister comments on ceasefire possibility: 'The chance of reaching an agreement...'
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said that the possibility of a ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel is increasingly diminishing.
In his meeting with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, Gallant stated that 'the possibility of an agreed framework (agreement)' with Hezbollah, with whom clashes are ongoing, 'is running out.'
A written statement from the Israeli Ministry of Defense noted that Gallant held a phone call with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
It was reported that the two sides discussed efforts regarding an agreement for the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza.

'HEZBOLLAH CONTINUES TO TIE ITSELF TO HAMAS'
It was noted that Gallant, who argued that the Houthis in Yemen 'pose a regional threat,' claimed that in the north where clashes are ongoing, 'Hezbollah continues to tie itself to Hamas and the possibility of an agreed framework (agreement) (with Hezbollah) is running out.'
Following Israel's launch of attacks on Gaza, mutual clashes have been continuing across the 'Blue Line' between the Israeli army and Lebanese and Palestinian groups in Lebanon, primarily Hezbollah, since October 8, 2023.
