Israeli Defense Minister Katz: The gates of hell will open
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated, "If the Israeli hostages in Gaza are not released soon, the gates of hell will open."
As Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip continue, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has made a threatening statement.
Making unsubstantiated claims, Katz said, "Hamas's top officials are refusing to release the hostages and are celebrating in luxury hotels. If the Israeli hostages in Gaza are not freed soon, the gates of hell will open."
Negotiations hosted by Qatar are ongoing between Israel and Hamas for a 60-day ceasefire, which would involve the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, as well as allowing humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
If the ceasefire goes into effect, negotiations will begin on permanently ending the war in the subsequent process.
Officials state that there is still disagreement between Israel and Hamas regarding the extent to which Israeli soldiers will withdraw from the Gaza Strip following a ceasefire.
