IDF officials shared information that the Israeli army has been tasked with preventing Syrian forces from gathering within 65 kilometers of the border. It was learned that preparations are underway to build additional outposts along the buffer zone at the border.

According to reports from Syrian TV, the Israeli army has taken control of the area up to 5 kilometers inside the Syrian border, and three brigades have been deployed in this region. It was noted that the primary duty of these brigades is to prevent potential infiltrations into Israel.

Referring to the leader of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) administration in Syria, Ahmad al-Shara (known by his codename Jolani from his time as an Al-Qaeda militant), Katz made the following remarks:

''Al-Jolani, every morning when he wakes up in the Presidential Palace in Damascus, will see that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are watching him from the summit of Hermon (Mount Sheikh). We are here to protect those living in the Golan and Galilee from the threats posed by him and jihadist groups.''

Katz stated that areas where hostages are held in Gaza would never be attacked, arguing that the Israeli hostages are 'sacred.'

DRUZE COMMUNITY TO VISIT ISRAEL

It was reported that approximately one hundred members of the Druze community from Syria will visit Israel. The Druze community stated that the visit would be religious in nature and would include visits to tombs. It was also stated that the plan previously announced by Katz to grant work permits to Syrian Druze in the occupied Golan Heights would be implemented soon.

According to a report by the Haaretz newspaper, the IDF was preparing for a long-term presence on Syrian territory. The report pointed out that this situation requires the creation of new 'security zones' between the armed forces of the HTS administration in Damascus and Israel.

The Israeli army announced that it has designated the area up to 15 kilometers inside the Syrian border as a 'security zone.' According to the IDF's statement, the Syrian army is not permitted to enter this zone. Furthermore, Syrian forces are being prevented from keeping long-range weapons within 65 kilometers of the border. Israel emphasized that it has also restricted the entry of police forces into the area between 15 and 65 kilometers from the border.
