Israeli general confirms, saying 'they succeeded'

Israel Defense Forces Brigadier General Dan Goldfus confirmed reports that 1,000 people have been killed by Palestinian groups since the surprise attack on Saturday.

In a statement to reporters, Dan Goldfus stated that "the last four days have been very difficult days for Israel," noting that the groups they are fighting are a "brutal, vicious enemy."

Goldfus confirmed the death toll, saying, ''Unfortunately, this time they succeeded in killing over 1,000 people.''

Goldfus did not provide details regarding the nationalities of those who died or how many were soldiers and how many were civilians.
