Israeli military intervention on the Hanzala aid ship

Emma Fourreau, a French member of the European Parliament (EP) aboard the Freedom Flotilla Coalition's (FFC) "Hanzala" vessel — which was on a mission to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza under Israeli attack and blockade — announced that an intervention on the ship had begun, saying: "The Israeli army is here. See you soon. Stop the genocide."

Fourreau, a passenger on the Hanzala vessel, announced via a post on her X account that the intervention had begun, writing: "The Israeli army is here. See you soon. Stop the genocide."

Fourreau stated that those on board had thrown their phones into the sea.

In a YouTube live stream launched by the FFC to track the Hanzala vessel, Israeli soldiers were seen boarding the deck while passengers on the ship raised their hands in the air.

A statement issued through the Freedom Flotilla Coalition's WhatsApp channel indicated that Israeli soldiers had taken down the security cameras.

ABOUT THE HANZALA VESSEL

The Hanzala vessel departed from the Port of Syracusa, Italy on 13 July, but completed its final preparations at the Port of Gallipoli from 15 July to 20 July to address certain technical needs.

It had been reported that 21 activists were on board the ship when it set sail on 20 July.

Famine in Gaza has reached an even more dire level in recent weeks. Images circulating on social media show people with bones visibly protruding from hunger, fainting, and unable to walk.
