Israeli President Herzog on 'hostage deal': 'An absolute majority supports it'
Israeli President Isaac Herzog, in a statement regarding the ongoing hostage and ceasefire negotiations between Hamas and Tel Aviv, said, "The entire nation wants them to return, and an absolute majority supports the hostage deal."
The hostage and ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas, which have been ongoing for months without any progress, have gained momentum. Following reports in the British press yesterday that “Hamas has accepted the US proposal for talks on Israeli hostages,” Israeli President Isaac Herzog also made a statement on his social media account.
Herzog emphasized that bringing the hostages back is the country's duty and that this issue is at the center of the negotiations. Using the words, “The entire nation wants them to return, and an absolute majority supports the hostage deal,” Herzog stated that their determination to bring the hostages back home is at the highest level.
Stating that they have never forgotten the hostages, Herzog said, “The Israeli nation will not forget them for a single moment. In every home, every synagogue, every community, and every public and private event, we hear the concern, the prayer, and the cry for the hostages.”
