Israeli press blames Turkey for the crash of Libyan plane

The plane that crashed a few hours after taking off from Esenboğa Airport, carrying Libyan Chief of General Staff Ali Al-Haddad, has caused a widespread stir in international media. While discussions continue regarding whether the incident was an electrical failure or intentional sabotage, the Israeli press has targeted Turkey.

Israel's Jerusalem Post newspaper claimed that Al-Haddad had begun to act independently of Turkey and was moving closer to Greece. It was suggested that this situation jeopardized Turkey's strategic interests in Libya. The Israeli press alleged that Turkey might have sabotaged the plane for this reason.

According to the claims of the Israeli media, Al-Haddad's distancing from Turkey and his allegiance to the Government of National Unity in Libya may have caused Ankara to engage in such an act. Furthermore, the fact that the plane crashed in Turkish airspace and that the investigation into the incident is being conducted solely by Turkey has increased suspicions.

These allegations came from right-wing media outlets close to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Israeli press argued that there were no Turkish citizens on the plane and that the incident could be a matter of internal settling of scores.
