Israeli press reports: Shipments from Turkey to Israel continue
Despite Turkey's decision to halt trade, the Israeli press has reported that products from Turkey continue to enter the country indirectly via Greece; it was stated that imports have reached billions of shekels.
The Israel-based Maariv newspaper reported that shipments to Israel are continuing despite Turkey's decision to "halt trade" on May 2, 2024.
According to the newspaper's reporter Lee Saadon, products originating from Turkey continue to enter Israel by following a circuitous route through Greece.
Eran Siv, President of the Israel Builders Association, announced that imports from Turkey totaling 1.9 billion shekels (approximately 23.5 billion lira/567 million dollars) were carried out during the January-July 2025 period.
