White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby announced on May 17 that Sullivan would discuss the latest situation in Gaza and the ceasefire process with his counterparts.
As part of his regional visit, Sullivan first traveled to Saudi Arabia to discuss "the necessity of a ceasefire and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the region within the scope of the latest developments in Gaza," before heading to Israel to meet with Prime Minister Netanyahu.
