Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu speaks out after 21 Israeli soldiers killed: 'We experienced one of the most difficult days since the attacks began'

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that they experienced one of the most difficult days since the attacks began, following the killing of 21 Israeli soldiers.

Furthermore, Netanyahu noted that Israeli forces are investigating the incident. In a statement made via a social media platform, Netanyahu conveyed his condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers, using the expression, "Yesterday, we experienced one of the most difficult days since the war began."

The Israeli Prime Minister described the situation as a "disaster" and argued that the Israeli army would continue its attacks on Gaza. He announced that the Israeli army has launched an investigation into the 21 soldiers killed in the ongoing clashes in the Gaza Strip. Israeli President Isaac Herzog also stated that this morning was "unbearably difficult" for them following the killing of the 21 Israeli soldiers.

According to data from the Israeli army, the number of Israeli soldiers killed in clashes since the ground offensive into the Gaza Strip began on October 27 has risen to 221. In total, the number of Israeli soldiers killed since October 7, including those on the Lebanon border and in the West Bank, has reached 556.

The reason for the start of the attacks on Gaza is cited as the comprehensive attack launched on October 7, 2023, by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, with the justification of "responding to continuous violations against Palestinians and sacred values, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque." In these attacks by Israel, 1,200 Israelis died and 5,132 people were injured. In the attacks carried out on the Gaza Strip since October 7, at least 25,295 Palestinians have been killed and 63,000 people have been injured. It is reported that civilian infrastructure has also been damaged, with thousands of dead and injured.
