Stating that they had warned their counterparts in Tel Aviv about the situation in Gaza during the ongoing prisoner exchange negotiations before the conflict between Hamas and Israel, the Egyptian official said, "We warned the Israelis repeatedly that the situation was reaching a breaking point and that it would be very big. But they underestimated these warnings."
