Israeli soldiers detain Civil Defense official in Gaza
The Israeli army detained a Civil Defense official and a firefighter during a raid on Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip.
In a written statement issued by the Civil Defense Directorate in Gaza, it was stated that the Israeli army detained Said Shubeir, the director of the Civil Defense for the Jabalia Refugee Camp, and Ramadan al-Akra, a member of the firefighting team, during its raid on Kamal Adwan Hospital.
The statement noted that Israeli soldiers took the two individuals to an "unknown location."
The Israeli army had raided Kamal Adwan Hospital, which it targeted late last night, and it was announced that children had died as a result of the hospital's oxygen tank being targeted.
World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus had stated that communication had been lost with the staff at Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, which was targeted by the Israeli army.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza also reported that following the raid on Kamal Adwan Hospital, no information could be obtained regarding some medical personnel, including Hospital Director Hussam Abu Safiya, and that their whereabouts remain unknown.
