Israeli soldiers 'rebel' against Netanyahu: 'The red line has been crossed'

In Israel, 130 soldiers have signed a letter declaring that they will no longer serve in the military if the Netanyahu government does not bring back the hostages in Gaza and reach a ceasefire. According to a report by the Haaretz newspaper, the letter was addressed to the Israeli cabinet and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). 

The signatories include reservists and conscripts from various military units, such as armored corps, artillery, the Home Front Command, the air force, and the navy. The letter states the following: 

“It is clear that the continuation of the war in Gaza is not only delaying the rescue of the hostages from captivity but is also endangering their lives. Many soldiers have died in IDF attacks. In the attacks organized by Israel to rescue hostages in Gaza, more hostages have been killed than have been rescued."

Warning that “we will not continue to serve if the government does not reach a ceasefire,” the Israeli soldiers wrote in the letter, “For some of us, the red line has already been crossed, and for others, it is rapidly approaching. The day is approaching when we will stop reporting for duty with broken hearts.”
