Japanese Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi, who came to Turkey for the NATO Summit in Ankara, drew attention on social media with his posts from Istanbul following his official meetings.
Sharing the moments he drank Turkish coffee during his tour of Istanbul, Shinjiro explained that they took a short break with his Ministry of Defense team after intense meetings. In his post, the Japanese Minister used the phrase, "Turkish coffee @ Istanbul."
In his message, Minister Shinjiro stated that, under the guidance of Ministry of Defense Representative Saito, the team shared the relief of successfully concluding meetings with ministers from various countries.

One of the Istanbul stops that attracted the most attention for Shinjiro was the fish sandwich experience around Eminönü. The Japanese Minister went to a historic establishment to try the mackerel sandwich, one of Istanbul's iconic delicacies.
In his post, Shinjiro mentioned that he was given a tour of the kitchen by the third-generation representative of the business and said he found the mackerel sandwich, which he ate for the first time, "very delicious." The Minister also described chatting with two Japanese tourists he happened to meet at the venue as a lovely memory.

Shinjiro Koizumi had also become a trending topic on social media during the summit in Ankara before his Istanbul posts. Stating that it was his first time seeing the foil-lidded cup water offered to him, Shinjiro drew attention with his words, "At first I thought this was a candle, but it was water. It's the first time I've seen something like this."
