Ivanka Trump testifies in New York real estate fraud trial...

Ivanka Trump arrived at the state Supreme Court building in Manhattan amidst chants of "Crime family" from a group of protesters outside.

Taking the witness stand in court, Ivanka Trump was questioned by prosecution attorney Lou Solomon regarding her general role in her father's companies, the development of real estate assets, and the securing of financing.

Regarding her father's financial dealings in the real estate sector and loans obtained from banks, Ivanka Trump responded by saying, "I don't specifically recall any discussions about financial statements."

Questioned by Trump's defense attorney Jesus Suares after the prosecution, Ivanka Trump denied the accusations against her father, arguing that, contrary to the claims, banks were always eager to work with Trump companies.

Ivanka Trump became the fourth person from the Trump family to testify, following her father's appearance in court on November 6.

Trump's children, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, also testified in the same case last week.

TRIAL EXPECTED TO LAST UNTIL MID-DECEMBER

At the conclusion of the trial, which began on October 2 and is expected to last until mid-December, Judge Arthur Engoron will reach a decision on issues such as how much of a fine will be imposed on Trump companies and whether their license to do business in New York state will be revoked.

Since this is a civil fraud case rather than a criminal one, no one is expected to receive a prison sentence as a result of the trial.

Former President Trump, who did not attend many of the hearings for previous cases filed against him for "sexual assault" and "tax fraud," drew intense media attention by attending the hearings of this case multiple times, despite not being required to testify.

THE FRAUD CASE AGAINST TRUMP

In the indictment where New York Attorney General Letitia James alleges that Trump, his three children, and his company inflated their net worth by 3.6 billion dollars, she is requesting that the judge ban Trump and his children from ever forming companies in New York again, prohibit them from purchasing commercial real estate for 5 years, and impose a 250 million dollar fine.

In the case filed on charges of "defrauding numerous individuals and institutions in the real estate sector for years," Judge Arthur Engoron had ruled that the accusations that the former President and his company, the "Trump Organization," defrauded banks, insurers, and business figures by overvaluing assets and exaggerating net worth in deals and financing documents would be heard in court.

In his 35-page ruling, Engoron stated that Trump, his company, and his executives consistently lied about their annual financial status to obtain loans and lower insurance premiums under favorable terms.

Trump's lawyers had also appealed to the New York appellate court regarding Engoron's decision that Trump and the other defendants were liable for fraud.

The appeal requested an evaluation of whether Judge Engoron "made legal and/or factual errors, abused his discretion, and/or acted in excess of his authority" while reaching his decision.
