Jordan reopens Jaber Border Crossing on Syrian border

Jordan announced that it will reopen the Jaber Border Crossing on the Syrian border as of this morning.

Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Al-Qudah stated in a statement to the official Jordanian news agency PETRA that trucks will be allowed to cross from the Jaber Border Crossing into Syria starting this morning.

Al-Qudah noted that the decision to allow trucks to enter Syrian territory will help facilitate the flow of commercial goods and cargo movement between Jordan and Syria.

Minister Al-Qudah expressed that he will visit the border crossing and the Syrian-Jordanian Joint Free Zone tomorrow to review the progress of work, procedures, and regulations regarding the process of commercial exchange between the two countries.

Jordanian Minister of Interior Mazen Al-Farrayeh had announced on December 6 that the Jaber Border Crossing between the two countries was closed due to the security situation in southern Syria.
