Journalists in France commemorate colleagues killed in Gaza
Following a call from journalists' associations in France, hundreds of people in Paris and Marseille protested the killing of dozens of journalists in the ongoing war in Gaza.
In Paris, hundreds of people knelt symbolically on the steps of the Bastille Opera House, carrying photographs of the victims. Demonstrators wore t-shirts marked with 'press' and stained with red spots while reading out the names of the journalists killed in Palestine.
Nearly 200 journalists have been killed in Gaza since the war began on October 7, 2023.
During the demonstration, where slogans such as 'We will not remain silent, there is a genocide in Gaza' and 'Free Palestine' were chanted, it was observed that numerous Palestinian flags were carried alongside banners.
