Julian Assange's lawyer to defend Nicolas Maduro
The lawyer who defended WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange will represent Nicolas Maduro, who was abducted by the U.S. in an attack on the capital, Caracas, on January 3.
The name of the lawyer who will defend Maduro and his wife, Flores, has been announced.
Maduro, in today's hearing to be held in New York, will be represented by the lawyer who currently represents Julian Assange and who, last summer, secured Assange's release through a plea agreement.negotiating experienced U.S. criminal defense lawyerBarry Pollack will represent him.
Houston-based white-collar crimeattorneyand former Department of Justice prosecutor Mark Donnelly informed the court that he would represent Maduro's wife, Cilia Flores. Donnelly's firm biography notes that he speaks Spanish.
