Famous American singer and actor Justin Timberlake, who appeared in court in the US state of New York, has pleaded guilty to the charge of 'driving while intoxicated.' Timberlake's driver's license was suspended for 90 days, and the star was also fined. Following the court hearing, Timberlake urged drivers not to get behind the wheel even after consuming a single alcoholic drink.

According to police statements, Timberlake was arrested shortly after midnight on June 18 after failing to stop at a stop sign and swerving out of his lane in the center of the Hamptons, near New York, and exiting his BMW while intoxicated.

Police stated that 43-year-old Timberlake admitted to the officer that he had consumed one martini. However, Timberlake had initially argued in court that he was not intoxicated.

The celebrity was sentenced to a $500 fine with a $260 surcharge, 25 hours of community service at a non-profit organization of his choosing, and a 90-day suspension of his license.

Speaking to the press after the court hearing, Timberlake said:

'Even if you've had one drink, don't get behind the wheel of a car,' he said. 'There are so many alternatives. Call a friend. Take an Uber. There are many travel apps. Take a taxi. This was a mistake that I made, but I'm hoping that whoever is watching and listening right now can learn from this mistake. I know that I certainly have.'
