K2 Airways cargo plane disappears from radar off the coast of Pakistan

A K2 Airways cargo plane traveling from Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, to Karachi, Pakistan, has reportedly disappeared from radar off the southern coast of Pakistan.

According to information obtained, the Boeing 737-400 aircraft, with tail registration AP-BOI, operating flight KTA1732, lost contact with air traffic control off the coast of Balochistan. It was stated that the aircraft is 27 years old and is a Boeing 737-400 BDSF type, which had been converted from a passenger plane to a cargo plane.

According to initial reports, the crew informed air traffic control shortly before the connection was lost that they were experiencing navigation issues and requested guidance.

It was alleged that the aircraft then made a sudden right turn and lost altitude at a high descent rate, described as approximately 15 thousand feet per minute. It was noted that attempts by air traffic controllers to re-establish contact with the crew were unsuccessful.
