Kebab shop in France sold wild boar meat with fake halal certificate

A kebab shop operating in the French city of Strasbourg has been shut down for allegedly feeding its customers wild boar meat for years under a fake halal certificate. Inspections at the establishment named "Le Damas Royal," which had been operating with a halal certificate since 2016, revealed that the certificate was fraudulent.

During the inspection, the distinct taste of a meat sample taken from the shop caught the attention of experts. Laboratory tests revealed that the meat used in the kebabs was not chicken or beef, but wild boar. This confirmed that customers had been served wild boar meat for years.

The business owner, Khaled T., made a statement that drew public outrage, defending himself by saying, "Wild boar is natural; it roams freely in the forest. It is more organic than chicken from poultry farms." However, this defense did not quell the backlash.

Authorities announced that the halal certificate hanging on the kebab shop's wall was designed using the Paint program and was made to appear as if it had been issued by a non-existent "France-East Ethical Control Institute." The address on the document belonged to a post office box in the German city of Kehl. Following the exposure of the scandal, the kebab shop was immediately sealed.
