Operational activities at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, have been temporarily suspended. The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of Saudi Arabia announced that the airport was attacked during the day and that many people were injured in the incident.
In a written statement issued by GACA, it was stated that damage assessment efforts have been initiated following the attack. The statement indicated that operations at the airport have been halted until it is confirmed that the facilities have been secured.

GACA had previously announced that 4 people lost their lives and many others were injured in Houthi attacks on King Khalid International Airport between October 6-8.
While clashes between government forces and the Houthis in Yemen have recently escalated again, the Houthis have been targeting Saudi Arabia with ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. The Saudi-led Arab Coalition has been supporting the internationally recognized Yemeni government since March 2015.
