Knife attack on mosque congregation in Canada: 3 people injured
Three people were injured in a knife attack at a mosque in the North American country of Canada.
In a mosque in the Canadian city of Montreal, an individual armed with a knife attacked the congregation. Three people who intervened against the attacker were slightly injured.
Police officials reported that the 24-year-old suspect was taken into custody at the scene. The suspect, who is being interrogated, is expected to appear before a judge today.
A regional police spokesperson announced that one of the people injured in the attack, which occurred during Friday prayers, was taken to the hospital.
It was noted that all three of the injured sustained minor knife wounds while subduing the attacker, and that the mosque congregation kept the attacker under control until the police arrived.
The National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM), Canada's largest Muslim human rights organization, stated on the social media platform X that they were aware of the situation and that further details would be provided.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau issued a statement regarding the incident, wishing a speedy recovery to those injured. The Prime Minister reminded that there is 'no place for hate' in Canada while sending a message of support to the Muslim community.

While we wait for more information, my thoughts are with these individuals and the entire congregation who must be very shaken right now.…
