Kremlin explains why Trump did not impose tariffs on Russia
Kremlin Spokesperson Peskov noted that Russia is not subject to the new American tariffs because the trade between Moscow and Washington is not at significant levels.

Evaluating the new customs duties that US President Trump has implemented for many countries, Peskov explained Russia's absence from this list by the very low level of bilateral trade.

Peskov added that, in general, they do not see it as very likely that the new American tariffs will benefit Russia.

Furthermore, Kremlin Spokesperson Peskov pointed out that the global economy is reacting emotionally to the new American tariffs and is in a state of turmoil.

While there are 185 countries on the list of new customs duties announced to the public by Donald Trump, the fact that Russia was not on the list had drawn attention.

The highlights from Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov's press conference are as follows:

"The Russian economy is strong and developing successfully, but additional measures will be needed in the current environment of global turbulence.

No phone call is planned between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in the coming days; it is not on the schedule.

Russia is currently working to revitalize its relations with the US.

The contacts made by Putin's Special Envoy Kirill Dmitriev in Washington are very important, and the work is ongoing."
