Kremlin reacts to US Vice President Vance

Russia has reacted to the remarks on military pressure made by US Vice President James David Vance in an interview with the Wall Street Journal ahead of the Munich Security Conference.

In a statement issued by the Kremlin, JD Vance was asked to clarify his remarks that "there are economic pressure tools and, of course, military pressure tools that can be used against Putin."

In his interview with the Wall Street Journal, Vance had stated that if Russia did not accept a peace treaty with Ukraine, options for economic sanctions and military intervention were on the table.

Vance had used the expression, "there are economic pressure tools and, of course, military pressure tools that can be used against Putin."

Following the publication of the interview, Vance stated that the Wall Street Journal had "distorted" his words.
