Kremlin Spokesperson Peskov: This is not our war
Evaluating the conflicts in the Middle East that began with the attacks launched by the US and Israel against Iran, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, "This is not our war."
Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has made statements regarding the ongoing conflict in the Middle East between Iran, the US, and Israel.
In an interview with Russian state television, when asked about Russia's position in the war, Peskov replied, "This is not our war." However, adding that many countries continue to take sides in this conflict, Peskov said, "From the very beginning, we have said that such conflicts would destabilize the region. We cannot stop the war. The party that started this war can stop it if they wish."
Emphasizing that they must work to minimize the negative effects of the conflict in the Middle East on Russia, particularly in economic terms, Peskov stated, "We must minimize the impact of the global crises that are still ongoing on our economy. We must act in line with our interests and secure our own interests."
"We remain open to negotiations"
Commenting on the resolution of the Ukraine crisis, which is Russia's main agenda, Peskov expressed that they have always been open to negotiations with Ukraine, saying, "We remain open to negotiations. We are waiting for the next round of negotiations."
Expressing that they attach great importance to the efforts of the US, which has taken on a mediating role in resolving the Ukraine crisis, Peskov said, "We see that the Americans, whose role as mediators we value highly, are currently busy with other matters. However, we are patient. We are following the developments."
