Labour Party claims victory according to UK exit poll

In the country, where there are approximately 50 million voters, polls opened at 07:00 local time (09:00 Turkish time) and closed at 22:00 to determine the members of the House of Commons, the elected chamber of Parliament.

In the election, where a total of 4,515 candidates are competing to enter the 650-seat House of Commons, the first results are expected to begin emerging within a few hours.

The exit poll is expected to be announced minutes after the voting process concludes.

It is estimated that the general picture in the House of Commons will become clear in the morning hours as the MPs elected from the constituencies are confirmed.

Pre-election polls conducted by research firms predicted that the main opposition Labour Party would win by a wide margin, while the ruling Conservative Party would suffer a defeat.

While it was estimated that the number of seats held by the Conservative Party, which won 365 seats in the previous election, would drop to the 100s, polls indicated that the Labour Party would win over 400 seats.

Polls show that in addition to the far-right Reform UK Party, the Liberal Democrats, the Scottish National Party, and the Green Party will be represented by more than one seat in the House of Commons, and that parties representing Northern Ireland and Wales may also have a presence in parliament.

In the election, pro-Palestinian independent candidates are also competing to enter parliament. Among these candidates is Andrew Feinstein, of Jewish descent, who entered parliament in South Africa during Nelson Mandela's first election.

Feinstein is running in the same constituency as Keir Starmer, the leader of the Labour Party, which is the favorite in the election. Feinstein aims to win and prevent Starmer from becoming prime minister.

According to the exit poll announced by the research company Ipsos UK after the polls closed, the Labour Party has come to power by securing 410 seats in the 650-seat House of Commons.

The number of seats held by the ruling Conservative Party, which won 365 seats in the previous election, has fallen to 131.

The far-right Reform UK Party won 13 seats, the Liberal Democrats 61, the Scottish National Party 10, and the Green Party 2 seats.
