Last-minute family member move from Biden
Former US President Joe Biden issued a preemptive pardon for his family members just minutes before his term ended.
Biden stated the following:
"My family has been subjected to relentless attacks and threats, motivated solely by a desire to harm me, the worst kind of partisan politics. Unfortunately, I have no reason to believe these attacks will end. That is why I am using my constitutional authority to pardon James B Biden, Sara Jones Biden, Valerie Biden Owens, John T Owens, and Francis W Biden."
Donald Trump, who won the presidential election held in the US in November, has officially taken office after being sworn in. Following the inauguration ceremony, Trump began his second term as the 47th president of the United States.
