Latest status in Canadian general elections

As the vote count continues in the general election held in Canada, the first unofficial results from the ballot boxes show the ruling party in the lead. According to data reported by Canada's public broadcaster CBC, the Liberal Party is in first place in the election race.

The Liberal Party, led by Prime Minister Mark Carney, maintains its lead in the elections with 48.1 percent of the vote. Carney, who took over the office from former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on March 14, had also emerged as the favorite in pre-election polls.

On the opposition front, the Conservative Party, led by Pierre Poilievre, is in second place with 42 percent of the vote. The Bloc Québécois is in third place, with the party's vote share at the 7 percent level.

These results indicate that the Liberal Party's new leader, Carney, has gained trust both within the party and among voters, while also pointing to a very close electoral competition.
