Lawsuit filed against the Department of Government Efficiency that Musk will lead: Will the 'DOGE Father' be unable to start his duty?
Following Trump's inauguration yesterday, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which billionaire Elon Musk was announced to lead, has been sued.
The law firm National Security Counselors has sued the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which famous businessman Elon Musk is set to lead, alleging that it violates 'federal transparency rules.'
In the lawsuit filed by National Security Counselors, it is claimed that DOGE, which was not established by Congress but will work in cooperation with the government, violates 'federal transparency rules.'
The indictment in question states that DOGE meets the requirements to be considered a 'federal advisory committee' and therefore should be subject to the 'Federal Advisory Committee Act.'

'DOGE MUST BE SUBJECT TO THE LAW'
According to the Federal Advisory Committee Act, such committees are legally required to have 'fair and balanced' representation, record their meetings, allow public participation, and submit a charter to Congress.
According to a report by the Washington Post, DOGE, which will be managed by billionaire Elon Musk, faced legal obstacles shortly after Trump took office.
Kel McClanahan, an official from National Security Counselors, argued that all of DOGE's meetings should be open to the public, stating, 'We are not arguing that DOGE cannot exist, we are only saying that it must be subject to the law.'
It was noted that in addition to the law firm in question, many other organizations have also submitted indictments regarding DOGE for similar reasons.

DOGE's X account reads, ''The people voted for 'radical' change''
WHAT IS DOGE?
Trump had announced that Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, whom he appointed to head DOGE, would pave the way for dismantling government bureaucracy, slashing excess regulations, cutting wasteful expenditures, and restructuring federal agencies.
Arguing that they would eliminate the massive waste and fraud in the 6.5 trillion dollar annual government spending, Trump had stated that Musk and Ramaswamy would work together to liberate the US economy and make the government accountable to the people.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Ramaswamy announced that he was stepping down from his position as he is considering running for governor of Ohio.
