Lebanese President Aoun meets with CENTCOM Commander Cooper

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander Brad Cooper visited Lebanon, where Israeli attacks are ongoing. Cooper was received by Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in the capital, Beirut.

A statement issued by the Lebanese Presidency reported that the meeting addressed preparations for the implementation of the framework agreement approved during the Israel-Lebanon negotiations held in the U.S.

The statement also noted that Aoun thanked Cooper for U.S. President Donald Trump's interest in helping Lebanon achieve security and stability.

A statement from CENTCOM said, "Cooper met with senior civilian and military leaders in Israel and Lebanon. While in Lebanon, Cooper and his team met with President Joseph Aoun and Lebanese Armed Forces Commander Rodolphe Haykal. The leaders discussed the way forward for the implementation of the historic framework agreement signed in Washington, D.C. on Friday."

Cooper visited Israel

Following his visit to Lebanon, Cooper traveled to Israel. The CENTCOM statement added, "In Israel, Cooper visited U.S. troops serving in the region. Currently, more than 50 thousand American troops are serving in the region, remaining vigilant and ready."
