Leaders of European countries gathered in London to evaluate potential solutions to the war in Ukraine. The summit took place following disagreements between the US and Europe regarding Ukraine. The meeting was attended by representatives from France, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Poland, Czechia, and the UK, as well as representatives from NATO and the European Union. Turkey was represented at the meeting by Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan.

The leaders discussed issues such as the continuation of military support for Ukraine and the intensification of economic sanctions against Russia. European countries agreed to form an alliance to protect Ukraine. French President Emmanuel Macron expressed the view that the coalition should be 'military in nature.'

According to Reuters, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer pointed out in his statement before the meeting that three fundamental elements are necessary for a lasting peace in Ukraine. Starmer noted that 'a lasting solution is not possible without a strong Ukraine, security guarantees, and US support.'

Stating that the UK will continue to provide military aid to Ukraine and is prepared to send troops if necessary, Starmer said:

'We will build a coalition to maintain peace in Ukraine. Not every country may be able to contribute, but this does not mean we will sit back and watch.'

The idea of a military coalition proposed by Macron and Starmer also received support from representatives of EU institutions. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated, ''Europe needs to be urgently rearmed.''

RUSSIA: 'EUROPE WANTS WAR'

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov claimed in a statement before the summit that European countries are fueling the war. Lavrov also reacted to the plans of France and the UK to send peacekeeping forces to Ukraine. Stating that it is unacceptable for 'such a decision to be made without consulting Russia,' Lavrov signaled that such steps would not be welcomed by Moscow.

Arguing that Europe has been the source of crises in the world throughout history, Lavrov said:

''The US wants peace, but European countries still desire for the war to continue. Europe lies at the root of the major conflicts that have occurred in the last 500 years.''

The Russian Minister emphasized that Russia does not want the war to continue and added the following:

''All crises in the world in the last 500 years have been caused by European leaders. The Crusades, colonial wars, Napoleon, and the First and Second World Wars all originated in Europe. Europe also created Adolf Hitler. When we look deeply, the US was not the party that ignited the fuse of these wars I have listed. They want to talk among themselves and make arrogant decisions. They don't even ask Russia if we want to see foreign troops there as peacekeepers.''

ALLEGATIONS OF A TRAP SET FOR ZELENSKYY

The tension between Trump and Zelenskyy last week dominated the summit's agenda. According to claims in the American and British press, it was suggested that a trap was set for Zelenskyy by the Trump administration.

According to The Guardian, US Vice President JD Vance 'specifically' targeted Zelenskyy during the meeting, sparking the argument. While Vance has frequently repeated his anti-Ukraine rhetoric in the past, he said in a video conference he attended in 2022, ''I don't care what happens to Ukraine.''

The argument began when a journalist asked Zelenskyy about his choice 'not to wear a suit.' While Zelenskyy replied, 'I prefer to talk about more serious issues,' it was alleged that Trump winked at the journalist.

ELON MUSK: ''TIME TO LEAVE NATO''

Trump's advisor Elon Musk reacted to NATO and the United Nations on social media after the summit. Musk suggested that the US should leave NATO.

Quoting a post that said, ''Time to leave NATO and the UN,'' Musk used the phrase 'I agree.' This statement aligns with the growing anti-NATO and anti-UN rhetoric in Republican circles in the US.

Musk's post received tens of thousands of likes on social media. According to the US media, the idea that the US should leave NATO has recently come to the fore among Republicans. It was noted in the US press that there is no information suggesting the Trump administration has plans in this direction. On the other hand, the Trump cabinet has so far avoided making definitive statements about the future of NATO.
