Macron makes statement on 'visas for Palestinian officials'

Stating that France and Saudi Arabia will co-chair a conference on the two-state solution to be held in New York, USA, on September 22, Macron said, "The US decision not to grant visas to Palestinian officials is unacceptable. We demand that this practice be reversed and that Palestine's representation be ensured in accordance with the Host Country Agreement."

TWO-STATE SOLUTION PUSH

Emphasizing that they aim to bring together the broadest international contribution to the two-state solution, Macron noted that only this solution can meet the expectations of both Palestinians and Israelis. Stating that this would be possible through a lasting ceasefire, the release of hostages, the delivery of large amounts of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, and the deployment of a stabilization mission in the region, Macron assessed, "Afterwards, we will work for the disarmament of Hamas and its complete exclusion from governance in Gaza, the reform and strengthening of the Palestinian Authority, as well as the complete reconstruction of Gaza. Any attempt at aggression, annexation, or displacement of the population will not stop the dynamic we have created with the Crown Prince. Many partners have joined this effort."

Macron called for the September 22 conference to be made a turning point for peace and security for everyone in the Middle East.
