Macron: There cannot be a war in Lebanon

"There should not be, there cannot be a war in Lebanon," Macron said, stating that the parties must fulfill their obligations along the Israel-Lebanon Blue Line.

"We strongly call on Israel to stop the escalation in Lebanon," Macron said, also demanding that Hezbollah end its attacks on Israel.

Macron stated that Israel's attacks on Gaza have lasted too long, saying, "There is no justification or explanation for the loss of tens of thousands of Palestinian lives."

Emmanuel Macron emphasized that "Too many innocent people have died and we are mourning them. These deaths are a scandal for humanity," adding that these losses could lead to feelings of hatred that threaten the security of everyone, including Israel.

"AN INTERNATIONAL MISSION MUST BE SENT"

Macron noted that Israel's attacks on Gaza must end immediately, a ceasefire must be achieved, and humanitarian aid must reach the region.

"A new phase must be reached in Gaza. The weapons must fall silent, humanitarian aid workers must return, and civilians must be protected," Macron said, adding that an international mission should be sent to the region to initiate a two-state solution process, and that this should be brought to the agenda of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

Stating that the UN, with its 80-year history, is facing its greatest accumulation of crises, Macron pointed to the necessity of rebuilding the foundation of respect and trust among peoples in the world.

"We must show the same concern for everyone who is suffering," Macron said, adding that every life is of equal value.

The French President continued his speech as follows:

"When it comes to human dignity, we cannot accept any distinction. When it comes to the sovereignty of states, we cannot accept any distinction either."

"WE MUST BUILD A MORE JUST AND EFFECTIVE INTERNATIONAL ORDER"

Macron stated that wars in the world call into question the capacity of countries to implement the UN Charter, emphasizing the necessity of protecting civilians and humanitarian aid workers in wars.

Expressing his desire for the UN to be more effective, Macron explained that he is in favor of expanding the UNSC. Macron assessed, "We must build a more just and effective international order."

Stating that they will continue to provide the necessary equipment for Ukraine's defense, Macron expressed that achieving a just peace in the context of the Russia-Ukraine War would be in everyone's interest.

Macron stated that France stands firmly with Armenia regarding regional tensions between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
