Macron warns of 'civil war'

Macron evaluated the campaign promises of rival parties in a podcast broadcast.

Macron stated that the political programs of far-right leader Marine Le Pen's National Rally (RN) party and the far-left France Unbowed (LFI) party could lead the country to civil war.

Expressing that the solution offered by the far-right against insecurity divides society and drags the country into civil war, Macron noted that LFI, on the other hand, proposes a form of "communitarianism" for France. Macron claimed that a civil war could break out in the country following such a situation.

Macron said, "When we are fed up with everything, when life becomes difficult every day, we can be tempted by the allure of extremists who offer faster solutions. However, the solution will never be to reject the other."

While acknowledging that his rivals, the RN and LFI, respond to the real problems, anger, and anxieties of citizens, Macron expressed that he finds the solutions offered by these parties to be wrong as they increase "conflict" in the country.
