The death toll from a collision between a passenger bus and a truck in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais has risen to 38.
The death toll from the bus accident in Brazil is rising. The number of people who lost their lives in the collision between a passenger bus and a truck in the state of Minas Gerais has increased to 38.
The Minas Gerais fire department reported that 13 people from the 45-passenger bus were taken to hospitals near the city of Teofilo Otoni.
Authorities stated that all victims had been recovered from the scene and that the cause of the accident would be determined as a result of an investigation.
Minas Gerais Governor Romeu Zema stated in a post on his social media account that he had ordered a "full mobilization" of the Minas Gerais government to assist the victims.
Zema said, "We are working to ensure that the families of those who died in the accident are supported so that they can face this tragedy, which occurred just before Christmas, in the most humane way possible."
