The photograph of First Lady Melania Trump, wife of US President Donald Trump, taken by photographer Regine Mahaux in the Yellow Oval Room at the White House on January 21, one day after Trump's inauguration, has become a trending topic on social media.
Social media users compared Melania Trump to the fictional character First Lady Claire Underwood, who becomes US President in Netflix's world-famous political drama House of Cards.
Social media users commented, "Melania's portrait gives off a bit of a 'House of Cards' vibe," "Melania tells us more than her wardrobe! This is House of Cards! Trump is coming!", "Isn't this a striking coincidence? Is Melania Trump revealing her inner Claire Underwood?" and "I think she is sending the same message as her husband. This time she is not joking!"
In the photo, Melania Trump looks directly at the camera and places her hands upright on the table in front of her. In the background, the Washington Monument is visible.
