Meta announces $60 billion budget for 2025

In a post on his Facebook account regarding the matter, Zuckerberg emphasized that this year will be a defining one for artificial intelligence.

Stating that he expects the artificial intelligence tool "Meta AI" to become the "leading" assistant serving more than 1 billion people this year, Zuckerberg also noted that the artificial intelligence model Llama 4 will become the most advanced model and that they will develop an artificial intelligence engineer that will begin contributing an increasing amount of code to R&D efforts.

Zuckerberg stated that for this purpose, Meta is building a data center with a capacity of over 2 gigawatts, large enough to cover a significant portion of Manhattan.

Noting that they will commission approximately 1 gigawatt of processing capacity this year, Zuckerberg reported that they will finish the year with more than 1.3 million graphics processing units (GPUs).

Zuckerberg commented, "As we significantly grow our AI teams, we plan to allocate $60-65 billion in capital expenditures this year, and we have the capital to invest in the coming years as well."

Describing this as a "very large" effort, Zuckerberg expressed that it will drive their core products and business in the coming years, open the door to "historic innovation," and expand the United States' technology leadership.
